End of term party for Santiago schools project

Gloria Carla and Robyn work very hard to maintain order and to communicate and teach the children that El Puente work with each week in Santiago. Gloria's style is to be the teacher, Carla is the assistant and apparently Robyn is like their friend.

However this week since it was the last week they had a special celebration and Gloria said that having Pastor Scott there was like having another child in the class, fortunately, Gloria was over the moon that her Pastor was there lying on the desks and causing disruption in the class! She thinks that Jesus himself would have had just as much fun with the kids .

For the end of year event we wanted to give the children a leaving gift , how wonderful to come into contact with a friend from the Gideons society who arranged for each child to receive a Gideons bible. There is no better gift that we can share with these young people than God's word.

Huambutio clinic is open !

This week we opened for business and welcomed our first few patients. It has been wonderful to see our plans and hopes and dreams become a reality. We would like to say a HUGE thankyou to everyone who has encouraged us and supported us financially and prayerfully. Along with the church in Cusco, the nurses from La Fuente and our supporters overseas it has been a big team effort and we are excited to see what God is going to do in Huambutio! We had some good meetings with the local school, the president of the next village, the local police and also the closest medical facility. All are keen to support and endorse what we are doing, please join us in praying that the local community will come to the clinic and recieve spiritual as well as physical healing.

Noche de postres y musica

This weekend we had fun hosting a night of puddings and live music to raise money for our church building fund. We are so thankful for the many donations we have received from supporters overseas to help us purchase our own church building and now the local church in Peru is also working hard to raise some funds. It was also an opportunity for church people to invite their friends into the church in a relaxed environment.

Qhali Winanchis

Qhali Winanchis is the name of the Huambutio social project. It means "We grow together healthy". The name was chosen by Mercedes one of our church members who is originally from Huambutio.

It is our prayer that our patients will become healthy in body mind and spirit.

Today we organised our stock and held an open morning so that folk from the community could stop by and visit the clinic. People were very excited to finally have some health provision in their community.

Our plan is to open for business next week . In time we hope to teach in the local school and hopefully do health checks on the pupils.

The grand inauguration and chocolotada/ commnity Christmas celebration will be held on 9th December.

MMI medical campaign

Anjanette has been busy seeing patients this week at the medical campaign.
It is a privilege to serve and to provide  medical and pastoral care for such needy patients. Even the patients who we were unable to do much for were so grateful for our small efforts and care.

The equipment is now in the new clinic
