Fiesta de la Luz
El Puente hosted a terrific light party. We had a record number of children in the church, it's always a good sign when the helpers are having as much fun as the children. There was a wonderful team spirit and it was great to have the church open and showing God's love and light on a day when so many people are focused on darkness. We pray that El Puente will have many more opportunities to show God's light in the community in Cusco.
Huambutio clinic is nearly ready
We plan to start seeing patients in Huambutio on Nov 13th. Here are some photos of how the clinic is progressing. Next week we will start to fill the clinic with furniture and medical equipment then all we will need is the patients!

El Puente Pollada
In Peru when people need to raise money for a specific cause it is very common to hold a pollada. People sell tickets for the chicken potato and salad meal and then meet together to eat and fund raise. Our church young peoples' group will soon be travelling to Arequipa to attend a youth camp organised by the Baptist Convention, they are hosting a pollada to help with their travel costs. Tomorrow morning the food will be taken to a communal oven and cooked ready for the pollada after the church service. Hopefully we will have as much fun sharing the meal together as they did preparing it!

Scott in hospital
This last month Scott has been unwell with gall stones, thanks to a strict low fat diet he has lost 15kg in weight (!) and earlier this week he underwent surgery in Lima to have his gall bladder removed. Leaving the children behind in Cusco and negotiating an unfamiliar health system in a different language was a bit stressful but we have received tremendous support from many different people all round the globe and we have felt uplifted by peoples' prayers, thankyou!
Scott had the op in a Christian hospital, before the surgery the hospital staff prayed with him and there was a very latin american style picture outside the hospital theatre of Jesus present next to the surgeons at the operating table, we certainly have felt aware of God's presence with us this last month.
